Sasha Biloshisky
Sasha Biloshisky (Funk Format / ArtGility / Rawkus City / Soul Rawkus CIC) is an international movement artist, artistic director, producer, Hip-Hop dance educator and Bboy.
Based in Portsmouth and a proud trustee of Portsmouth Creates, he’s spent years growing the city’s arts scene and creating opportunities for other creatives.
Sasha is the leading force in Hip-Hop dance across the Solent and the south of the UK. His artistic career spans more than two decades and has taken him to some of the biggest stages going: the Olympic Opening Ceremonies, West End productions and every major UK music arena. He’s shared the stage with the likes of Sean Paul, the Sugarhill Gang and the Furious Five, and produced work for Kylie Minogue and Boy George, earning a reputation as a versatile performer, choreographer and producer.
He’s every bit as committed to the next generation. As founder of Funk Format Soul Rawkus, one of the country’s leading Hip-Hop dance companies, he’s built a home for up-and-coming dancers to sharpen their skills and find their own voice.
His festival, Rawkus City, is Portsmouth’s first Hip-Hop Dance and Music festival, and it’s helped establish the city as one of the key places for Street Dance, Hip-Hop culture and Dance Theatre.
Sasha’s approach is open to everyone. You’ll find his work across community projects, talks, performances, social dance research, events and weekly dance skills sessions.
