Jonathan Folkard is the founder and Creative Director of Danger Danger, a design, illustration and animation studio based in Waterlooville. With more than 15 years in the creative industries, Jonathan began his career at the world-famous Metropolis Studios in London – an environment that shaped his creative discipline and introduced him to working with major global artists and brands.
Since founding Danger Danger, he has built a studio known for bold, character-driven work that blends storytelling with commercial design. From brand campaigns and illustration to animation and merchandise, his team’s work helps clients connect with audiences in authentic, impactful ways – as well as looking cool in the process!
Jonathan is passionate about proving that world-class creative work can thrive outside London. Through Danger Danger, he actively champions local talent, creating live briefs, competitions and collaborations that give students and emerging creatives real-world experience and paid opportunities.
As a trustee of Portsmouth Creates, Jonathan aims to use his industry insight, creative leadership and community focus to help strengthen the city’s creative economy – connecting business, education and culture to create more opportunities for Portsmouth’s creative talent to shine.
