
Portsmouth Creates has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Culture and Leisure Business of the Year award at the 2026 Portsmouth Business Awards, recognising the organisation’s contribution to creativity, community and cultural growth across the city.
Now in their 26th year, the Portsmouth Business Awards celebrate businesses and organisations that demonstrate exceptional impact, innovation and commitment to the local community. Being shortlisted places Portsmouth Creates among a select group recognised for making a meaningful difference in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Creates is a Community Interest Company dedicated to championing creativity as a force for connection, opportunity and growth. Its mission is to connect, support and advocate for local creatives, from artists and makers to cultural organisations, ensuring creativity enriches lives and strengthens Portsmouth’s identity.
Over the past 12 months, Portsmouth Creates has delivered an ambitious programme of activity designed to support the city’s creative ecosystem. Highlights include In Our Words, the We Connect Conference 2025, the launch of Playland Creative Hub, the We Thrive Mentorship Programme, networking and business support for creatives, youth initiatives, and retail platforms showcasing local talent.
Through funding, mentoring, partnerships and cultural programmes, Portsmouth Creates has helped grow creative businesses, create pathways into the sector, strengthen community pride and support cultural tourism, all while connecting creatives citywide.
The shortlisted organisations will be invited to attend the black-tie Portsmouth Business Awards Gala at Portsmouth Guildhall, celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals across the city.
