Writing Retreat

Date: 12th-13th December
Time: 10.00-13.00
Location: Portsmouth Central Library
Cost: £9, £5 concessions.

A quarterly Writing Retreat, inspired by wonderful feedback at Portsmouth Bookfest 2025. Write alongside beginners and published authors.

How does a writing retreat work?

  1. Come in person or join the Zoom link sent out with tickets.
  2. Bring your work-in-progress or start with a writing prompt.
  3. Take part in timed writing sessions (50 minutes – an hour of focused writing)
  4. Ask me questions during the breaks

Whether writing a novel, a blog, or just getting something shifted, this is a constructive way to get words on the page. Make the most of your inspirations.

Attend one morning, or both. Buy just one ticket: same link both days.
“Reignited something in my soul”

“Amazing how the writing prompts so often led into just the bit of writing I was struggling with.”

Not quite a workshop, more a way to feel part of the writing community, share writing experiences woeful and wonderful, and get words on the page.
