You can’t fix what you don’t understand. Luckily, the Climate Fresk workshop turns climate science into a game!
Played by over 2 million people worldwide, this playful & collaborative workshop will teach you the fundamental science behind climate change and empower you to take action.
Based on the IPCC reports, the workshop explains the causes and consequences of climate change. Whether you’re new to the subject or an expert, you’ll learn a lot in just 3 hours. And you can even train to become a workshop facilitator yourself!
HOW DOES THE GAME WORK?
This 3-hour workshop calls on participants’ collective intelligence and creativity to identify the cause-effect relationship between the different components of climate change. As a team, you will gradually arrange the 42 cards in a visual ‘collage’. By working together, you’ll move from one set of cards to the next, learning as you go. A facilitator will guide you through the workshop, to help everyone work well together and to give additional explanations when needed.
THE WORKSHOP PROGRAMME
A quick introduction – to learn a bit about Climate Fresk and to meet others in your group through a short ice-breaker
Reflection & linking cards – building up your ‘collage’ with your team, guided by your facilitator
The creative phase – to relax and get to grips with your new knowledge
The debrief – to share your thoughts, feelings & emotions, and to discuss individual and collective solutions.
Following this session, you can easily train to become a facilitator if you wish, so you can run workshops yourself and help raise awareness on climate change.
